What Makes an Apprenticeship Different?

Different than internships and other training programs, apprenticeships are specially designed programs that include five core elements:

  1. Paid Employment. Students are paid to learn with guaranteed wage increases as they hone their skills.
  2. On-the-Job Learning. Students gain real-world experience with customized, structured work-based learning.
  3. 皇冠-Provided Instruction. Skills are enhanced with classroom and laboratory instruction, which provides college credit.
  4. Mentorship. Apprenticeships work under the supervision of a mentor, providing one-on-one support.
  5. Credentials. When the program is completed, apprentices earn a portable, nationally-recognized credential.
